Dell has been a bit tight lipped about its latest project, Adamo, and it seems like they still have few details to offer except that it does exist. The rumors come after the site Adamobydell.com popped up spurring much discussion as to what this new project might be. Engadget had posted some pictures of the upcoming Studio XPS model and made a remark that the Adamo would follow the same scheme, but by the thinnest laptop on the market to compete with the Macbook Air. I wish I had more to offer, but there just aren’t many details out there, just an official word that it is coming from Dell, which is nice to have.

Well Santa Jobs has come and gone and left plenty of nice shiny toys behind. So what all did Apple drop on us today? Both the Macbooks and Macbook Pros got their long rumored aluminum finish from the brand new manufacturing process that makes them more sturdy since they are large pieces of aluminum rather than a lot of parts fastened together. The Macbook now comes with a slightly better graphics card the Nvidia GeForce 9400M and the MBP has switchable graphics with the 9400M and 9600M GT. The Macbook Air also received some upgrade love along with Nvidia graphics offerings. The buttons on the trackpad are gone and have been replaced with a glass trackpad that is sort of like the Blackberry Storm in that the trackpad is giving some response to clicks since it will act as the button. Another product launched today was the 24 inch Cinema Display backlit by LED for $899. All in all, it seems like a pretty exciting day for Apple fans every where. Just when you thought Asus could not possibly come out with another product they do with the Asus S101. However, unlike a lot of the past products where it was just another iteration of the Eee PC, this one is fairly different and stylish. Coming in at 2.2 lbs and .7 inches thin the Asus S101 features a 10.2″ LED screen at 1024×600. Other features included 802.11n, ethernet port, Bluetooth, 4-in-1 card reader, SSD up to 64GB, 3 USB ports, and 1GB RAM. Also like the Macbook Air, the Asus S101 comes with a non-replaceable 5 hour battery. Pricing for this is a big difference from the Macbook Air with the base model at $699 coming with Windows XP and 16GB SSD or Linux with 32GB SSD. There is also a 64GB Linux model for $799. I am looking forward to this netbook to arrive since it looks a bit less gimmicky than most netbooks out there.
