Well, at least if you live in Singapore it is available now. But it is a good sign that it will be coming to other locations soon. This is a surprsingly powerful update from the ATI 3450 all the way to the ATI 512MB 4570. On top of that it comes with the new Edge-to-Edge HD LED screen with 1366 x 768 resolution. The basic model comes with the previously mentioned card and 2.4GHz P8600 Core 2 Duo, 3GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive for around $1050 USD. Well done Dell! I am glad to see a very respectable card used in one of your affordable notebooks.

Here are the specs of the upcoming Dell Mini 10. Finally it looks like they are getting some decent specs into netbooks with a respectable hard drive size and screen resolution. The optional colors are a nice touch too.

Dell has finally unvealed the Adamo and boy, it looks awesome. It will come in two colors as you can see above and is very thin. There are two USB ports, a combo eSATA/USB port, DisplayPort, Ethernet and power connectors on the back, a lot more than either of its competitors the Macbook Air and Voodoo Envy 133. The additional images show that there isn’t an optical drive; it is just a little too slim to include one. While there are now a lot of images of it out there, there are no specs to behold. So until Dell decides to release the specs, or better yet start selling these bad boys, we will have to just look at the pictures.

They are finally here! After many months of speculation both by myself and many others, the Dell Studio XPS are here and boy do they look great. Both the Studio XPS 13 and 16 start at $1199 and come fairly loaded with the entry level configuration boasting 4GB of DDR3 RAM and dedicated GPUs. The 1640 comes with the ATI M86XT and the 1340 comes with the Nvidia 9400M with the option of the 9500M. Dell has a very nice notebook going for them now, it is just too bad they had to release it so many months after their competitors released their Montevina notebooks.

Well, we have some more news about the upcoming Dell Adamo, the Macbook Air competitor I posted about the other day. Still nothing specific regarding the specs, but a few things on Dell’s website have shed a few more clues. For one a 2x Blu-Ray peripheral placeholder was put up for the Adamo and there were also a few external hard drives of 250 and 500GB posted. We have also learned that it will use DisplayPort to handle the video output. The price should start at around $1500 and not the $3000 as reported by a few other sites. The processor will be the low-voltage Core 2 Duo and there is a possibility of an included external DVD burner. More information and the debut of the Adamo should come at CES which is between January 8th and 11th. And it seems like they are still on schedule to start shipping in February. I can’t wait to get a glimpse to see what this notebook looks like.

Dell has been a bit tight lipped about its latest project, Adamo, and it seems like they still have few details to offer except that it does exist. The rumors come after the site Adamobydell.com popped up spurring much discussion as to what this new project might be. Engadget had posted some pictures of the upcoming Studio XPS model and made a remark that the Adamo would follow the same scheme, but by the thinnest laptop on the market to compete with the Macbook Air. I wish I had more to offer, but there just aren’t many details out there, just an official word that it is coming from Dell, which is nice to have.

After being released a bit early, Intel has released their Core i7 chips officially today. Micro Center started to offer theirs a day earler on Sunday when I received a newsletter in the e-mail and Newegg was giving everyone a sneak peak at their prices. And, not to miss a beat, several manufacturers have also released new systems featuring the speedy new chips in case you were looking for something a little less cheap than the $8,238 Falcon Northwest Core i7 machine is just a tad out of your budget. Here are a few of the ‘more affordable’ machines out there if building your own isn’t quite up your alley.
Dell Studio XPS: Starting at $949
Dell XPS 730x Gaming Desktop: Starting at $1999
Gateway FX6800: $1249.49 Engadget
Alienware Area-51 X-58: A surprising $1649
Those are just a few of the more mainstream offerings. I am sure the other manufacturers will be rolling out theirs soon and even more affordable desktops will be coming as Intel releases the more mainstream desktop processors and motherboards early next year.

We all knew it was coming, the question has always been ‘When?’ Well Dell answered that question yesterday when it launched the Inspiron Mini 12 in Japan. The United States will see the Mini 12 arrive sometime in November. The Mini 12 packs a 1.3GHz or 1.6GHz Atom processor, up to an 80GB drive, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wifi, and a 12 inch screen with 1280 x 800 display all within a case measuring a little under one inch and 2.72 pounds. The downside is that 1GB is the max on the RAM, which is a huge disappointment considering the first wave of the Mini 12s will come with Vista Home Basic. The XP and Ubuntu models are to follow late this year, but even those would benefit from having more than 1GB of RAM. The 3 cell battery will provide about three hours of use and there is an optional six cell battery. Overall it looks nice and is basically a bigger brother to the Mini 9. Netbooks have traditionally featured smaller screens from 7 to 10 inches so this bump to 12 inches may mix things up a bit. However, with the 1GB of RAM the functionality is going to be severely limited. The price too is a bit of a stretch with a price of up to $600 when it hits the Dell site next month. A bit spendy and you can definitely find a full featured notebook for less than that.

Just about one month after the release of Dell’s 9 inch Intel Atom based netbook, here comes the long awaited 12 inch model. The specs aren’t 100% clear nor is a possible release date, but one thing is clear – it’s here and showcasing Vista a first for the netbook class which features either Windows XP or a Linux distro. A possible release date might come next week to counter what Apple plans on releasing at their event next Tuesday which is rumored to have a $800 notebook as well as refreshed designs among the entire notebook lineup.

Have you been in the market for a SmartPhone or PDA but don’t really require the voice option of a cell phone plan? Well, Vodafone has a solution just for you. Vodafone has decided to offer the newly released Dell Inspiron Mini 9 equiped with 3G goodness for folks who’d rather tote around a netbook rather than a SmartPhone. There is no word on the pricing just yet nor a definite release though it is said to be in the coming weeks. It would be nice to see these netbooks be subsidized just like their phone counterparts.
