A nice example of how your car engine works. It is amazing that this process goes on thousands of times a minute without any interference (usually). The amount of engineering is quite amazing and something we take for granted to just work every time we turn the key.
Toyota has announced that starting in 2010 that it will begin building the Pruis, for the first time outside of Japan, in Mississippi at the plant in Blue Springs. The original purpose of the plant was to build the Highlander crossover, but high gas prices have cause a drop in the demand for trucks and SUVs. Toyota will suspend the production of the Sequoia SUV along with its V8 engine for about three months. After that the product lines will be shuffled around as Toyota repurposes its plants to adjust to the change in demand.
With the development of more hydrogen powered cars, the problem arises where to refill these vehicles. Well, that problem just got a little bit smaller by ITM Power, a UK company, which has developed a hydrogen refueling station that could be installed at home. The station utilizes an electrolyser which produces hydrogen gas from water and electricity. The station can provide enough gas for a car to travel up to 25 miles over night. The company hopes to have these units produced on a commercial scale by the end of the year for $4,000. The goal for these units are to supplement much larger refueling stations which can provide much more hydrogen quickly for longer trips.
Haha, I think this is great. The speed and stop light cameras are just easy money for police departments under the pretense that they will increase public safety. They are indeed a huge breech of privacy that is taken away from us more and more each day. This guy was just expressing what everyone else is thinking. Hopefully he won’t get charged with anything because he obviously has enforcement officials miffed.
